From Plans to Final Installation
It is always wise to check if planning permission is required. We have seen examples at just verandas where a local authority has not required planning permission one week and then their policy has changed the next.
It is most important to check on the state of play in a planning department if you are anywhere near a conservation area, an area of outstanding natural beauty or if you own a listed building. The planners are quite rightly jealous of their built environment and want to preserve its character for future generations.
Glass verandas are becoming more common as people appreciate how useful they are and therefore planning departments are slowly becoming aware that there is a need for some control over their erection.
Typically a glass veranda from just verandas will compliment your home and should mean that planning permission is granted even if the local planning authority required you to apply.
